My wonderful husband read about this game on Hanselminutes.  I'm actually surprised he hasn't posted about it in fact.  I had never heard of Ticket to Ride but we ordered it from Amazon last week and it arrived yesterday.  Granted, we haven't purchased a "board game" in a while but I was quite impressed with the quality of this game.  We were anxious to play so we ate dinner and played at the same time.  Our younger two weren't very interested in it but their bed-time is earlier than the older two so they went to sleep fairly early in the game.

I liked several aspects of this game but I think my favorite part was not knowing who the winner was until the end.  My daughter (7) beat us all but we had so much fun.  I've found myself thinking about playing it again tonight!  The kids caught on rather quickly and I loved how it forced them to learn a bit about geography (major city locations).

I'm very interested in discovering more games like this one.  It's already a family favorite that I'm sure will be played at the next family game night (if not before).
