TiVo - you hear it all over the place now. One has to wonder if everyone who uses it actually owns a TiVo or if they are referring to their other brand DVRs. If you own a TiVo, you know what I'm talking about - there's only one.
When my husband first started talking about this “gadget” (as I unaffectionately once referred to it) I wasn't on board. He would send me articles and descriptions trying to get me to understand what it was and what it did. I thought it was basically a glorified VCR but he showed me it was oh so much more!
Sure, you can pause live TV; Yes, you can rewind to catch what you just missed. You can record your favorite shows ..........but did you know that you never have to know what time your show comes on? Did you know you don't have to know how long the show runs? Did you know that if you tell TiVo to record every episode of a series it will do that EVEN if the show changes nights of the week or is a special 1 hr episode instead of 30 minutes? Did you know that? Betcha didn't.
Did you know that with TiVo you can set up “Wishlists“ based on favorite actors, keywords...etc TiVo will find those shows and record them for you to watch when YOU want to. There are so many functions and abilities you really have to experience it to know what all it can do!
If you own a DVR that isn't a TiVo - please check out what a TiVo actually is and can do - if your's can't do what TiVo can - stop calling it a TiVo.
