I'm actually out of bed, although I've been awake since 4:45am. I lay there for a long time just thinking and praying before finally deciding to pry myself from the comfy surroundings. I woke the previous two mornings about the same time but didn't get up till much later.
It's so quiet. Amazing how loud the refrigerator and a ticking clock can sound at this time of day. The wind is howling outside and our oleander just slammed into the window. No doubt it's being thrashed about.
Yesterday I posted about hitting 10K steps and then I broke my own record by getting over 11K that day. Carol asked in my feedback if the photo at the top was actually me lol – yes, it is. It is both from a “good angle” and quite a few pounds lighter than I am now. I don’t allow very many photos of myself. I do have some really bad ones that make even me go “who is that?”
Since I haven't posted any other pictures of myself on this blog, here's the "film strip" graphic from my homepage. I know you can't tell much from the pic but I weigh pretty close to the same thing now as in that picture. Some differences, I'm now growing out the girls' bangs (although I got bangs last week lol) and Lee's hair is considerably longer now (it grows ridiculously fast and he wanted it longer).
I do have a long way to go to hit my goal weight and as I get closer I'll likely post some bad "befores" and good "afters". For now though, I'm just not interested in staring at a bad photo every day, I'd rather see where I'm headed and visualize being in that place. Call it positive reinforcement I guess.
In other news, Erik finished our taxes last night (one of our documents was lost in the mail and arrived yesterday). We're hoping to pay off some things with our return - woohoo! You know, I'm realizing that it's taking me a long time to finish this post lol - it's now after 6am and I started it around 5:30...oh well. I might as well go ahead and get in my Thankful Thursday list while I'm sitting still:

I am thankful for God's saving grace and my husband's smiling face.
I am thankful for these precious kids and those handy spill-proof lids.
I am thankful for a home I can call my own and my tiny, blue, cellular phone.
I am thankful for technology but not as much as my family, you see.
I am thankful I can run and play and for this fresh new day.
I am thankful for all God's given me and pray a good steward I should be.
Ok, so I'm in a sort of "rhyming mood" this morning. It's now almost 6:30 and I see that we're supposed to hit 80 today. I guess I could be thankful that it's not 90? Yes, that's it, we're still below 90 in the middle of February lol. Would you believe they are forecasting 40's tomorrow? Crazy stuff isn't it. Now I'm just rambling about nothing so I'm going to post this and be done with it.
