The Manuscript Has Left the Building

On Friday I mailed one of my children's book manuscripts to a publisher.  This is the first time I have ever submitted my work in this way.  As a kid I entered a couple of writing contests at school and then as an adult submitted a poem to a contest that I think was more of a scam.  You know the drill, where everyone's poem ends up published in a big book that you can purchase for big bucks.  We didn't order a copy because it was too much personally.

Anyway, I've never submitted a manuscript to a publisher to consider for publication.  This is very scary and exciting at the same time.  I'm trying to be positive and yet realistic.  While I feel that my manuscript is good, I must realize that I'm a "no name" writer who will have to break free from the slush pile to get published.  I'm already working on my next idea and hope to have it ready to go out soon as well.

So, here I am hoping and praying I get an acceptance rather than a rejection.
