We finished reading The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis yesterday. I guess I've never read the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia series. It's great to know how the whole adventure began. The kids really enjoyed it despite my having to explain a few things along the way. Oh and I had to do a bit of censoring here and there. Uncle Andrew scared K(6). She very quickly decided she didn't like him or Jadis. L(7) got a kick out of the whole scene where the animals in Narnia "plant" Uncle A
ndrew because they believe he's some sort of "tree". Tee Hee, that was a silly mental image.
On to book two! We'd like to be through a good portion of the series before the movie comes out in December. We'll have to preview it first of course. I sure hope it's suitable for kids. L is still waiting to see Star Wars: Episode III. We decided it was far too violent for him to see at the theater (Erik went with some of his guy friends).
