So I was really looking forward to seeing Erik on Friday.  Yes, it had only been five days but still!  I got all cleaned up (complete with make-up – oo ahhh).

I couldn’t wait to show him the house.  I met with my sister on Friday to get things settled to have it listed that day.  The clock ticked and I became more and more “sweaty” from all the last minute stuff.  I was already dressed to meet Erik so perspiring wasn’t my ideal way to top off the “look”.  By the time we finished at the house, it was time to head to the airport.  I should add that my MIL was on her way into town at that very moment.  So, I was a bit stressed about that.

((deep breath))

Once I picked him up we felt a bit rushed to get dinner and get back to the house (MIL would be meeting us there).  So we go to Cheddars and after waiting a bit, we’re finally seated.  Erik orders chips and queso as an appetizer.  Everyone is munching happily until J(2) begins to choke on a chip.  She coughs a couple of times and then sticks her fingers in the back of her throat to move the chip.  This of course prompts her gag reflex and she begins to throw up.....and kept throwing up.  The waiter ran to the kitchen and returned with a ream of paper towels.  Erik set about the task of cleaning up the mess (he was closest to her after all lol).  J(2) was fine and we continued on waiting for our meal.  After several minutes the waiter brings out another basket of chips to replace the now bare one.  As he's reaching across Erik to trade out the baskets he hits Erik's glass of water and proceeds to spill it (ice and all) into my lap.  I gasped, Erik jumped and the waiter shrieked, "I'm so sorry!"  Back to the kitchen he goes for the ream of paper towels again.  I've never been more thankful I was wearing black pants lol.  We tried to let the waiter know we weren't upset but you know what was coming to my mind?  I've perspired some of my make up off, my youngest child has puke stains on her clothes and now, my pants look like I've lost "control" in them.....and guess who I get to see when we leave the restaurant....the mother-in-law.  You know how you want to put your best foot forward for the in-laws, kind of make them glad their son chose you lol.

Turned out that she didn't seem to notice.  We ended up dragging that poor woman to everything under the sun.  On Saturday alone we had baseball pictures, baseball game, nephew's birthday party and church!  Then Sunday was Mother's Day and we spent it driving around looking at potential move-to areas lol.  We're glad she came and spent some time with us.  We don't see that side of the family very often so I really tried to "share" Erik despite wanting to totally monopolize his time.
