Carol at She Lives challenged us to spend a week blogging about blogging.  Well, I haven't been very active in the "blogging world" lately due to circumstances beyond my control (thankfully they aren't beyond God's).  Since I'm two days late on this, I'll see what I can get accomplished on the "topic" over the next 5 days.

The Purpose
I truly believe that a blog should have a reason for existing.  Something that drives the writer in a direction.  This blog was created with two things in mind:

faith

writing

If I keep those things in mind, it really helps me to let go of some "stuff" that can come of blogging.  If I take my eyes off my purpose, little things begin to get to me and I contemplate quitting altogether or worse, bowing to the "crowd" (whoever the crowd is at the moment lol).  I can also find myself wasting time researching or reading things online that don't fall within that purpose simply for the sake of posting something.  I don't know if other bloggers struggle with this but I do.  The last (almost) seven weeks have proved to be a real growing experience for me.  In relation to blogging, it has really helped me put this area of my life back into perspective.

So there you have it, the purpose of my Scribblings.  Tomorrow I plan to post on The Audience.
