Life in a hotel room affords many opportunities for learning.  Here's another tid bit we've learned over the two weeks we spent in one:

#9  Extended stay places typically clean the rooms once a week.  Don't be fooled when they show up at 8am to clean your room that it means they will finish it any earlier than 3pm.  They just come in "stages" and it takes all day apparently.  Some ideas for keeping the kids occupied out of the room...do the laundry, go to the park, go to the mall or do all three, you've got all day right?  Our hotel had a large grassy hill behind it.  We took blankets, notebooks and pencils and sat up on the side of the hill several times.  It's fun to draw what you see around you.  The kids even came up with a few silly stories to go with the pictures.
