My last series on food drudged up the old issue of forgiveness. No doubt many others struggle with this as well. We have all been hurt at one time or another by someone. Every one of us is faced with the decision to forgive or not. I’ve been faced with this more times than I can count and I’m afraid I’ve been less than willing on most occasions. As you can see by my goal lists, to-do lists and the like, I am a list keeper. Maybe it’s part of who I am in the “Birth Order” game. Yet, while lists can keep one on track and better organized, they are destructive when it comes to forgiveness.
A while back I thought I had a grip on forgiveness. In recent days, as I am examining why I do what I do, it’s come to my attention that I am still… forgiveness challenged. So, in an effort to tackle this issue, I’m doing another “In Relation to…” series. I know God wants to teach me something about this subject and maybe He’s got a word for you too. I should give a fair warning though. Anytime I seek to change something about myself for the better, things get much worse before they get better. So, strap on your spiritual armor and get ready for battle.
The outline of questions I’ve got going so far indicates this will be a three part series. Of course, that could change as we go along lol. I do know that we’ll be starting with the question, “What is forgiveness?”
