During Quiet Time: 28 Feb 06

Tuesday, 28 February 2006 14:13 by Blair

Its warm here today – very warm in fact.  The contrast to a few days ago isn’t a welcomed one for me.  Yes, I’ll admit it, I like cold weather.  Do I want to live in winter year round?  No, but I’m not ready for summer heat….AT ALL.  I’m actually grumpy about it today even.  I could take a gradual warming but this hopping back and forth and to and fro – well, to be quite frank – it stinks.  I don’t like it one bit.  ((frowns and furrows brow))

Yes, I’m pouting.  I do not like being hot.  When it’s cold, you can add layers.  But, when your stark naked and you’re still sweating – well, that is just not cool (ha!).

So, I sit here in my final minutes before the “quiet time” ends brooding about our ridiculous weather.  I’m sure it doesn’t help that all the flowers and trees think it’s spring and my allergies are going crazy…my head is pounding, my eyes are puffy and my sinuses ache….and I think it’s getting warmer in this house by the minute ((grumble)).

Our schedule is about to take off big time with spring sports starting up – practices commenced this week in fact.  I’m not sure I’m ready for all of this…

…incidently, we’ll not know how to dress for games this spring.  Wear a coat and it will be 90 degrees; wear shorts and we’ll have record lows; forget the umbrella and thunder storms roll in; take your umbrella…prepare for a 90 day drought.  Of course I would be remiss if I failed to mention the “it just came out of no where” hail storms and tornados.

Well, great, quiet time is over and I’m in this wretched mood.  “Come on, cheer up old girl…you can do it!”  (Shuts eyes tight and attempts to alter mood by willing it to change)  Nope, still sour.

Dear Lord, please, please, please help me to sweeten before these lovely children grace my presence in a moment.  I don’t want to be snappy and ill-tempered.  It’s not their fault I’m not taking the heat so well.  Could you give me something funny to think on?  HA!!  Ok, that was good.  Thank you!
