Several weeks ago I began designing a site for a MOPS group. I had in mind where I wanted to go with the site. Erik mentioned that I might be interested in the ASP.NET Portal Startup Kit. After thinking about it I decided that a portal would be perfect for this particular group. After completion of the graphic work I set about altering the portal kit. It wasn't without incident of course (see Nooooo lol). We ran into a few more issues and almost abandoned the idea of using this particular kit.
Once we felt things were stable enough I began to put more time into it. I've never directly worked with style sheets. When we worked on the style sheet for this blog, Erik did most of that with the “I want it like this” coming from over his shoulder lol. I knew he didn't have time to chang the style sheet to fit my preferences for this recent project so I asked him if I could do it myself. He quickly said “sure”, ran over a couple of things with me and then left me to tinker with it. So, what do I think about style sheets? THEY ROCK! I had so much fun with it and finally I was able to send the finished product to the group's coordinator.
So far they love it. It hasn't gone live to the entire membership yet but probably will soon. I love the challenge of learning “new to me” technology :o)
