Yesterday I posted about The Skin of this blog. Today I'd like to touch on the "discussion" side of things...
The Comments
Ok, maybe I'm the only one who feels this way but I was really afraid of that little "feedback" text box. Who knows what people might say. What if they're mean, what if they're rude, what if they disagree, what if...
400+ posts into it and I can say I'm no longer afraid of getting comments. I welcome them and can usually be pretty open minded about the thoughts of others. I have deleted hundreds of spam comments from my blog. Spam will not stay - did you read that spammers? Spam will not stay. Other feedback that won't stay is that which is rude (yes, subject to my interpretation of rude) or bizarre in nature (hard to describe this without you seeing one of them yourself). I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to do this. One commenter I tolerated for quite a while before finally saying, "enough". After all, it is "My Blog" lol.
Overall, my readers have been quite pleasant when posting. Many have become friends and a great encouragement to me. Most times I like to reply to my commenters either in my comments or on their own blog. Do I comment on others' blog posts? Yes, absolutely. I enjoy encouraging others in this way.
So there you have it, the comments of my Scribblings. Tomorrow I plan to post on The Etiquette.
