Yesterday’s Overlooked Compliment reminded me of something else from the weekend. 

After a debate with Erik on the pronunciation of the word emoticon, I had to whine…

“You were right, I was wrong!”  (Seinfeld quote lol)

Erik rubbed it in a bit by using the word at any and every opportunity.  I can see why he reveled in it as he is typically the one who is wrong when it comes to such things.

In my defense, I considered it a “made up word” merged together from two other words (emotion and icon) and therefore might not conform to any “rules”.  So, I was rationalizing that it could be pronounced emo.shi.kahn….but it’s not lol.  Also, the word is a merging of emotion and console, not icon.
